MARIA ANTKOWIAK – soprano
Maria Antkowiak was born on 29 April 1988 in Poznań in Poland. There she graduated the Henryk Wieniawski Music School in 2001. In the years from 2001 to 2007 attended Maria Antkowiak Mieczysław Karłowicz Music School in Poznan at Barbara Jarantowskas piano class. There she began to study singing by Jolanta Kajdasz. She graduated the Ignacy Jan Paderewski Music Academy in Poznan by Prof. dr hab. Antonina Kowtunow. Since 2013 she studies with soprano Bettina Jensen, Berlin.
Maria Antkowiak played in the Polish Theater, the opera “The Magic Flute” by W. A. Mozart, as I. Dame, under the direction of Adam Banaszak. She also appeared already on the stage in the Grand Theatre in Poznan the opera “The Marriage of Figaro” by W. A. Mozart as Susanna, directed by Maciej Wieloch.
Maria Antkowiak participated in several master classes, e.g., in Nowy Sącz – Jolanta Janucik (2007), MA Posen – Carol Theil (2010), MA Poznan – Peter Łykowski (2010), MA Posen – Anita Garanca (2011), Kutno – Anna Jeremus-Lewandowska (2013), Kutno – Zdzislawa Donat (2013), Kutno – Wiesław Bednarek (2013), Kutno – Monika Kolasa-Hladikova (2013), Berlin – Bettina Jensen (2013), Świnoujście – Tomasz Zagórski (2014).
Maria Antkowiak sings regularly at many music festivals in Poland, among others Nadnotecki Festiwal Muzyczny “Piękny śpiew w Starym Czarnkowie” Festival of Organ and Chamber Music in Drezdenko, Summer Festival in Kutno, as well as the International Festival “Sacrum non Profanum” in Swinoujscie.
She was a finalist in the XV. Imrich Godin International Singing Competition in Slovakia in Vrable (2012). She is also the winner of numerous competitions, among others, First prize at the First National Vocal Competition in Drezdenko (Poland 2014) and three special awards, including the personality of the competition and scenic image. Special Prize at the II International Jan Kiepura Voice Competition in Krynica Zdrój, in Poland 2014.
Since 2015 is she member of the International Association Natural Voice Perfection, which promotes natural vocal technique, consistent with the physiology that allows healthy, efficient and trouble-free use of the voice.
She sung with the orchestra POSM in Pozuelo in Spain and with several Polish Orchestras in Poland. She accompanied annually with solo recitals during the International G. Ph. Telemann Violin Competition in Poznan and sings in numerous Philharmonics in Poland, among others in Zabrze or Poznań. She has sung in Poznan Felix Nowowiejski Music Salon “Willa Róż” and “Scena Na Piętrze”.
Maria Antkowiak gives concerts as Duo Toccanto with her pianist Julia Wolańska, including already Germany, Spain, Italy, and of course Poland. The Duo Toccanto has in repertoire many cycles of Songs (M. Rimski-Korsakov, F. Schubert, B. Britten, M. Karłowicz or F. Mendelssohn), many opera and operetta arias
